| Ive got my new h.arizonensis about 2-3cm 2nd instar, can you plz give me advice in raising my scorpion. how will i feed? what to feed? enclosures? do i need water dish? | |

| You're in for a challenge. Young of this species are NOTORIOUSLY hard to rear in captivity.
Best bet is to use wetted / packed / dried sand so it can support a burrow. If you can provide a little bit of humidity at the bottom of the tank (maybe a straw going down when you pack the sand?), that might help.
Feed it the same prey you'd feed any scorpion that size. Small crix / roaches / etc. | |

| No water bowl needed for this scorpion and Mike has covered it really. Tank as big as you want. Suitable for one scorpion | |

| I think that about covers it. keep it in a tank which isn't to big though, just large enough for it to roam freely around but not too big. | |

| I hate to be the downer on this thread, but don't get your hopes up for this scorp. I've only heard of one case where someone successfully reared this species from birth -- I think he left them in mom's well-established burrow system, and a lot wound up cannibalizing. Later instars aren't so problematic, but really young ones tend to do poorly in captivity. Best of luck, though. | |
