I found this little fella in the bath a couple of weeks ago.

So just for a bit of fun I decided to raise it, to see what it turns into. I reacon it might be Araneus sp. poss diadematus (cross / garden spider) or Tegenaria sp. (common house spider), Which are the two most common spiders found in the area

Anyway it shed this morning and is now 3mm big.. hence the 'aawww cute'!!!!!

we have a ton of cellar spiders in the house, they scoff all the silverfish and escaped crickets.. useful spiders.

I'm hoping this is a cross spider though because they are gorgeous

By "cross spider," I assume you mean Argiope spp.? Orb-weavers are a pain in the BUTT to keep in captivity, IME. It's difficult to get them to do a proper web.

But they are indeed awesome. Very Happy

cross / garden spider... Araneus diadematus, or it might be Tegenaria domestica, the common house spider. I double checked the names before I typed them in the first place.

These are the most common sp. around here that don't have stupidly long legs. However if it looks like it is having problems I will release it. But it is having absolutely no problems webbing at the moment, the film cannister is full of it lol!

Tegenaria domestica

Admittedly we get the paler versions of these spiders up here in the north of England.

They'll web up without a problem, but true orb weavers have a hard time building a web they can trap prey in.

Tenegaria spp. shouldn't be a problem -- I've kept them in captivity before.

I love house spiders that help!
We used to have a "false widow" under the frog tank but when we moved she let go along the way from her little corner hidey hold under the tank Sad
She used to catch all the escaped crickets

Our friends had that exact same thing happening under their tarantula tanks -- and she was FAT!
