New setup for my P. imperator

I go for the False bottom tank this time...

i used a perforated doorcarpet.. and a lot of 4cm tubes as distance

then I took two tubes there one fits perfect in the other and put aquariumsilicone all over and roll them in reptibark
this tube is for get the water down to the bottom

I use a heatpad under the tank to get the water to evaporate and moister the substrate. It work very well.
Here you can see the basic setup. Pressed cork at the sides. Namiba-Terra Jungle Planting Mat and a Namiba-Terra Xaxim plate at the background.
Over the "top bottom" there is just 1cm reptibark so the Namiba-Terra Cocofibers dont fall down to the "lower bottom"
The plants I use is Ficus Pumila and an orchidee Phalaenopsi

I love the bark-covered tube! Now your tank has a tree trunk instead of a plastic tube. cheers

One thing, I'd suggest moving the heat pad from the bottom to the side. I know your scorpion can't burrow all the way down to it with the carpet in the way, but I'd sill be worried about it getting too warm if it burrows.

The tank get heat from a lamp abow, at one half of the tank. The pad is only the get the water to evaporate better...

it almost make no differnt to the substrate temperture at the bottom (close to the carpet)
the surface in the "heat zoon" is warmer than the substrate at the bottom
30celsius at the top and 26 close to the carpet.... the other half of the tank is not heated.

so I think this work very well

With the water being 'wicked up' anyway you dont need to worry about evaporation. the surface temperature will evaporate the moisture from the top of the substrate which will pull the water up from underneath. So you dont need to worry too much about keeping the water warm.
But definitely move the heat mat to the back, as low down as possible if you really want to keep some heat in the water. otherwise you will come in one day and find all the water on the floor from where the tank has cracked!!! - Been there done that hahaha!

Dont forget that a burrow is somewhere the scorpion regulates it's temperature (and humidity). you dont really want too much sub surface temperature if you have a warm top surface temp. there will be no where cool for your scorp if it gets too hot.

Excellent idea for a set up though. well impressed.. might have to borrow the bark on the tubes idea Very Happy Mine stand out like a sore thumb Very Happy

gently pull it away.

I know WD40 is excellent for getting rid of just about any adhesive!!! but be very careful not to atomise it into the air too much around your inverts
