| Just curious how 2 of these would do communually in lets say a typical 10 gal tank. I dont know there sex yet only way I can determine as of now is looking at both and finding a key difference lol Pectine counts is what ive heard so far. Which sucks cause I blink and loose track lol But are they a species that would never work together or is it possible to house them? I also hear their tough to breed due to humidity problems for the scorplings is that true? Like its hard to get humidity just right for the lil guys? | |

| Eddy did pretty well with a communal setup, but I think he had a huge tank.
And yes, raising juvies is incredibly difficult -- it's all but impossible to mimic the natural soil humidity gradients in a captive setting (so they can find the humidity they need to molt properly).

| I have these two together. There was an initial scuffle, but they share the same hide now. | |

| Well, no one knows. I don't know of many people who have kept them together.
They're not labeled as a communal specie, but that's mostly because it's never been tried and almost never found together in the wild.
I never heard of hadrurus eating each other.

I'm sure someone out there has a cannibalism story.

| I have 2 adult males in a 20-gallon long and they've been doing great for 5 months now! They have deep substrate to burrow in and tons of rock (lightweight red volcanic rock), so there are plenty of places to hide. I think floor space and multiple hides are key factors in successfully keeping Hadrurus together. That and feeding them well too | |

| I remember watching life in the undergrowth and on the first episode David Attenborough is walkin about Arizona with a UV torch and theres hundreds of H. Arizonensis about so from that I'd guess theyde be ok communal cause theyde end up runnin into each other all the time in the wild. just feed them often and itll be fine | |

| The problem has to do with humidity -- while this species generally needs it dry, in the wild they can burrow as deep as they need in order to find ideal molting humidity. Unless you have three feet of sand on top of a false-bottom, you can't provide that in captivity. | |
