PostSubject: Hedgehog?   Hedgehog? Empty7/30/2011, 10:21 am

Howdy all,
anyone know where I can find a hedgehog for a decent price? All the ones I have seen so far have been at least $200.00. I'm still in college, that's a bit much for one animal.
Thanks all

That's about standard for one. Every now and then I'll see an ad for $150 on the classifieds. Just keep checking and be patient. You'll find one.

Ok Thanks Street, I think I am going to have to wait a while on the Hedgehog then. I'll probably get one next year. My GF and I both love them and when I told her you could get them for pets she thought it was the coolest thing in the world. I have so much to teach her on the field of small animals. Wink

After some research the Hedgehog costs about $150 - $200 and after shipping it can cost $200 - $300. This is the average though. If can find a near by breeder you'll cut shipping costs entirely. Your gonna have to wait other wise, and buying the Hedgehog isn't gonna be the end of your expense. You'll have to fund his food, bedding, toys, anything else essential he may need and also establish a enclosure at a minimum of 2ft x 2ft. So I'd say you should put at least $450 aside for this project Wyatt. Also you'll need the time to train it between you and your lady friend. You probably know all this but I'm just pointing it out.

EDIT

By the way, theres actually a /farm a couple hours away from where I live Very Happy. And it seems that JUST shipping can be up to $200 and that is NOT including the price of the animal.

I don't really know for sure. I know I like the A. Pygmies but they're probably more expensive. So whatever is cheapest really.
