My friend sent me this from HK and it was packed damp coco peat. My friend had no idea and said the shops had all of them packed like that. "I hope he has done something about it (unlikely but).

In any case I finally get to see one of the infamous flat-rock scorps. This female was near death so I made a risky decision to toast her with a hot lamp to the side. Rousing to see if she had passed on, she reared with claws wide open.

Their reaction movements are exactly identical to Liocheles, only that they're bigger.

She may be gravid so I'll have to monitor her progress. updates yalls later

They're pretty neat. Personality wise, they have a kinda ditsy side and a rather crabby side. More often they would rather ignore you if you nudge them but just a little bit more over the edge and they greet with claws wide open ready to snap.

They have to be one of the most mannered eaters in scorpion world taking their time masticating every morsel as if all the food has to go down a really small tube.

I love hadogenes. easiest way to see the babies is under her belly. they have very thick side membranes and even with a full, well formed brood inside her, they dont show much from the side.

Glad she has recovered and fingers crossed for babies Very Happy

nice shots. i would be worried about having a scorp like that where you live, isn't the ambient humidity fairly high?
