Another Question

Can my p.cavin collapse his hide on top of himself by making to big of a burrow under it? If so what should I do get another hide? I'm using a hollowed out log from the pet store right now.

One cool trick is to build a foundation of sorts under the hide...silicone some legs to the tree trunk which rest on the bottom of your tank...or false bottom...then just fill the substrate around to cover the legs...if it digs too much then no problem. Hope that helps.

If it's just substrate they can dig themselves out just fine.

Ya but he made a huge hollow under the log and he's just a baby the log could crush him if it did fall. I kinda wanna take it out but don't know if he absolutely needs it to shelter him from the light.

You could fix it if you are really worried...the light won't hurt it.

Then take the log out and replace it with a lightweight piece of cork.

good bits of info there! some times i wonder if to take there hides out or not as there always under the sand anyway!!!?

if you're afraid the log is gonna crush it, go for cork bark. Cork is light weight and looks nice too.

What I did with my B. albopilosum is I took a piece of cork board and layed it on top of some coco fiber. I then started a tiny entrance in the front. She started digging it out and eventually had her home built underneath of the stable cork roof

I got a pretty neat peice of drift wood from my mom it's like a cave he used that.
