I can't imagine it's any different than our discussion last year about housing C. exilicauda and C. sculpturatus. I'll try and find it to use as a basis for comparison. wow, I'm having deja-vu

Eddy, Mike, I can't find it - we did have that discussion here, right? I remember it being a few pages long

maybe it was on a different forum but the 4th and 5th entries on this thread might help. I don't see much of a problem with it. it had to have been on this forum - it was either Mike or Eddy that brought it up - dammit, I wish I could find the thread.

Generally it's not recommended. Yeah, some people haven't had problems, but others have -- why risk it?

On a side note, I seem to hear fewer problems with emps and H. spinifer, or different Heterometrus species, than I do with P. imperator and P. cavimanus.

I've seen enough debate on both sides to say it isn't easy to keep P cav commnally let alone with another species. For mixed scorp setups I'd recommend (to someone with experience), P imp and H spin (heard they do pretty well together as long as it's a huge tank) and I've heard of certain bark scorpions tolerating eachother.

It really all depends on the scorpions. Most red claws don't do good with other species. But P. imps and Het species usually do fine.

I tried it, and didn't keep them together for more than 5 minutes, P. Cavimanus is alot more aggressive than the emperors. He went where they were hiding and fought my 3 emperors, kicked them out, and took over the hide they all share.

Pandinus cavimanus IS a bully of the scorpion "tropical" world in my experience.
Maybe I had a super agressive female but she wouldnt even like misting with the pouring and would attack the mist! She would also jump to try to get me when I would be spot cleaning her tank. She would also not be cupped into something! She would BRACE so I always had to "tail" her and with that I HAD to use the long soft tongs because she would reach up and grab the tongs!
RIP my little fire girl! RIP

So a pandinus cavimanus and the class clown, gentle "giant" Pandinus imperator...no way!

Yep. I had a pair and wasn't going to risk it until they were both mature and ready to breed.
