| Okay how should I set up an ICU for an LQ. Out of the 4 that came today one is in really bad shape. His legs were twisted in a weird way and he's unresponsive. He hasn't move more than 2 inches since I got him. I have no idea how to set up an ICU for one of these. Tips are much appreciated.
Oh and I know stings aren't fatal to the same species but I saw two of them fighting earlier and definatly saw a sting go off. I threw in some roaches to try to prevent canabalism, anything else I can do?

| they are really social just let them do their thing. An icu for a dry species is pretty hard. Try to rehydrate him by putting him in small container at 90F and add a little piece of moist paper towel. Try to offer him food with tongs. -eddy | |

| Thanks. I'm mostly worried about the one I want the ICU for. The others are just kind of running about exploring. This is probably the most active amazing scorpion ever. I'm so glad I let you guys talk me into it. | |

| Here's the sick guy. The picture is really far away but you can see the legs curled on top of him. That isn't a threat display either, he's been like that since he was in the container. I put some water on his mouthparts but he just let it fall off. He's in a bad way... | |

| Didn't think of that. Distinct possibility though. Would explain the twitching and oddly dark coloration (compared to the other 3). Guess that's it then, watch him die? | |

| well theres some debate to weather scorps can feel "pain" I would just wait it out but if you wanna squish an LQ go for it how many people can say they've done that. -Eddy | |

| I feel terrible... He looks up at me with those gleaming black eyes and moves his little left claw and whispers "Kill me... Kill me..." It's like something out of Alien Ressurection. | |

| If you want to put it out... put it in the freezer it will slowly go lethargic... then you can preserve it in alcohol. |

| I might freezer him in a day or two if he doesn't die by then. After that I'm thinking of giving him to an entomologist I know. | |

| Nah the one I know likes them dead. His family on the other would just prefer if he stores them somewhere other than next to the pizza rolls in the freezer... | |

An entomologist I know gives me his live specimens, because as he puts it, "I do better with pickled bugs." That's how I got my U. mordax and C. exilicauda, as well as a vinegaroon (that died a few weeks later).

| Thanks for your condolences... I look at it this way, now I have something cool to take seemingly reckless pictures with. I seem to remember someone on AB with a dead one in their mouth at one point. | |

| Have to be careful about newcomers to the hobby seeing that and emulating us. (Frankly, I'd be worried about having anything that's been dead for a while in my face. Dead scorpion has the funk!) | |

| I would bury the little thing into the ground with a little grave stone. I wouldnt put it in my mouth, on my face or even hold it. Dead things...yuk! Again sorry your scorpie has passed onto the other side. xxxx | |
