Getting my first hot snake.

Well I made the decision to keep my first rattler. I'm a little scared, but that's how I was with the first hot scorpion I got. I guess it is just a feeling that you have to get over. I am going to be overly cautious with it. I have a dedicated animal room, that is under lock and key. I am going to put him in a locking cage that will go inside another locking cage. Just for safety. Any recommendations?

Scorpions can't strike more than a couple inches.

A big snake can strike a couple feet.

Fortunately I know a lot more about snakes than I do scorpions. I am going to get a button rattler of some sorts. I'm not sure exactly what.

hmm well i got 2 sidewinders and get a long tank or high for sure cuz anythign can happen right just to be extra safe. if you are gettin a normal rattle snake that gets bigger than a sidewinder then u gotta make sure its a long tank so you can clean the poop and stuff my sidewinders always poop away from the heat source so its kinda more easier and safer but. you can use a plexiglass to block off the side where the snake is at so he cant strike while your cleaning. and never take off your eyes off him. hahah
