Cuba This Spring Break Empty
PostSubject: Cuba This Spring Break   Cuba This Spring Break Empty2/26/2009, 2:11 am

Should be good fun. Aside from taking pictures of myself with cuban cigars, in front of Che Guevara's memorial (Cool), hopefully I can take some time to go look for scorpions. From my understanding, the R. Junceus is quite common in cuba, as are many species of Ts. Hopefully I can get them past Canadian customs. Anyone have any experience with this particular species of scorp?

Yeah, I was thinking of a mixture of moist peat moss, and a small amount of sand for the sake of being aesthetically pleasing lol.

I'm from Canada too, and I was also thinking about going to Cuba this year for vacations. I also thought about the scorpion "hunting" also. I sent a e-mail to Canada Customs, and they said I didn't require any special permit whatsoever. I was all excited knowing that, BUT, I spoke later on, with a couple that go on trips to get tarantulas, they went to many countries in Africa and South America. They said that they were strict about exporting their wildlife. Ever since they said that, I don't feel like going to Cuba anymore....

Hmm, makes me wonder how good Cuban airport security is.

Well, regardless of the possibility of bringing scorps back to Canada, I'll snap a bunch of pics of all the Ts, reptiles, and scorps I find, and post them once I get back.

I love Cuba - take me with you!!!! just stuff me in the suitcase. I believe you might be able to ship scorps to canada as long as you don't mention what they are. their security is lax for everyone but amerikans. wherever you're from, you can take a large quantity of cigars and rum so long as it's not for commercial purposes - I wouldn't be surprised if you could get through security with scorps. have fun!
