Does this bother anyone else?

I came across this video in which a man kills and eats 22 live scorpions. Can be seen here:

I think this video is deplorable and sick. No animals, even the ones that are viewed as nothing more then ''venomous bugs'' should be killed for some lower form of sick 'entertainment.' It's nothing more then glorified animal cruelty.

How anyone could find it entertaining staggers me.

It's no big deal man.

I'd hate it if it where my scorpions though.

I didn't see the link, but if it's the video of the old guy, I don't have a problem with it. millions of people eat scorpions, live or dead, every day. it's a way of life in some places, and sometimes goes deep into cultural history. it happens wether you like it or not.

I think me and venom are less bothered by it seeing as how we're from Durango and crap like that happens all the time.

It would bother me if I saw it. When I was in elementary school, people new how much I loved mantids -- they'd find one, show it to me, and stomp on it just to [expletive] me off.

While I wouldn't say that an animal should be killed solely for entertainment, I'm sure it was a fairly common species. When I went collecting in a state park they told me to take every scorpion I could find, they were a pest there and that's how most people view them. I'm sure the guy who ate them just wanted to do something weird with an animal most thing is gross.

If nothing else he proved to some people that they aren't the life-threatening beasts most people see them as.

people had enough other material to rip on me at that age without having to bring bugs into it. i hd a mantis or two as a kid, i fed them flies, and they seemed to enjoy them, and i would let them go after a week or so. good times. i occasionally find they make their way into the house now, and i move them to the window sills to feast on the multitude of flies therein

this isnt really that bad as long as its for food. what i cant stand is when they just take thousands from the wild and kill them for tourist gifts...

In the wild, he would be eaten, and I doubt some large carnivorous animal would take the time to euthanize him before-hand. It's just life. That's how I see it anyways.
