PostSubject: Escapees...Run for your Lives!!!   2/3/2009, 3:00 am

OK...I dug completely through 3 of the small individual containers where the b. jacksoni babies were not visible... affraid

and they apparently wiggled out of a vent hole in their containers. I taped the other containers vent holes to prevent any other escapes. I truly thought there was no way any of the vent holes were even close to being big enough for them to get out. I was wrong...unless scorplings can spontaneously combust.

So...I've looked around the dresser where the containers were in a top drawer. Are there any tricks to catching loose scorplings? I really would like to save them if I can find them. I believe they are still in the dresser as it has a sealed back and bottom. I am surprised they could have gotten out and weren't still just hanging in the drawer. Any suggestions would be great. Until then...I will keep looking. Maybe I should turn a bunch of crickets loose and someday they will be big enough to see pale

Wal-mart probably won't have handheld lamps, but they may have big tubes that you plug into a wall outlet. I'd look online for a good flashlight. (But the WalMart stuff should suffice until then.)

Moved to scorps in general.

I think having a black light is a must in this hobby for situations like this. I have a strip light but i really need to invest in a torch.

I used to have a spinnifer who was an escape artist, luckily for me she always ended up in the back bog for some strange reason. might have been because there was a lot of bugs and spids in there!

anyway hope you find then Smile

Blacklights your best option. I used it to find one that had burrowed deep for ages and had thought it escaped or lost but it was live and well.

good ol detective work, worked for me when my iomachus politus was knocked out of her tank. I looked for a CLOSE spot to the location that was sheltered and dark.
and not far from her tank was the pandinus imperator tank. I looked underneath and didnt see a thing so pulled it out and the movement must have made her fall because there she was!
So look close to where they went missing and look vertically as well as under things

Will do! Thanks guys...I'm keeping the dresser warm and all the bottom drawers closed to hopefully contain things. I have located a small hand held tube black light at work. Now I just have to wait til Friday. As some may know, I use a wheelchair and can't dig around in there very easy myself. My buddy that I trust won't be back til then. And there is no way I can ask my room mate or brother...lol...they would flip out. The dresser is all sealed so I'm really confident they are crawling around inside. Its just killing me to have to wait til Friday night. Wal Mart has an 18 inch bulb, but I can use the work one til I get one of the better flashlight types on ebay. Thanks so much for all the tips. I did set a cap of water gel and a cork chunk in a spot I can reach in the corner...am hoping that might let me get lucky before my buddy can come do a thorough search...ugg...its never boring. Most likely they are parked on the back of a drawer...or in the very bottom.

If you ever wonder if a scorpion might be able to slip through that crack/hole/seam...the answer is they absolutely can!!!
