That is wild. You need to Photoshop a cigarette into her mouth on the pic where she is sprawled out under the egg sac tongue

Shocked

Even though I've attempted to breed widows, I think I'd require a change of pants if I came home and saw that.

I mean, um, congratulations on the successful brood! cheers

that's awesome, you sharing the wealth? I've been fascinated by the sub-genus Sicarius for a while. My favorite is Sicarius terrosus. The problem it that whenever somebody gets one in, they don't plan on parting with it and nobody's breeding them out here to my knowledge. Yes, I'm late seeing this thread but I just don't give a crap.

actually, i do sell Sicarius cf. hahni: http://scorpions.f1.to/?n1=sale. i keep Sicarus terrosus as well, but i'm not going to breed them, nobody's interested in S.terrosus, here in europe.

Ahh, I see, cool!! So are these really the worlds deadliest spiders? I had to do a little reading on them after seeing this thread. I wasn't familiar with them. Amazing, but a bit scary even with the supposed timid demeanor. Only way to survive a bite is to amputate the limb that was bitten immediately?? That was the one source that I read :/ I guess not good with a 4 year old in the house, lol

That's scary "pooh" so no chance of survival at all then really *runs screaming*

dude if i was standing on sand and saw spiders come up out of it....
like mike said, id need a change of pants and id also need a heart transplant

on a serious note, is this species prone to cannabalism or do you move the babies or adults out of the tank or are they communal?

i don't know about cannibalism, i remove the eggsac into a delicup before they hatch. 1-2 weeks after hatching, i separate the spiderlings (legspan ~7mm and fast as hell!!) in small delicups.

i've read some stories about S. hahni being the deadliest spider..... one bite or just a mean look and you're dead before your body touches ground! Wink
i don't believe, i think it's a myth. there's no documented case of a S.hahni bite.
sure, they have a very toxic venom, but the are so tiny and they have an extremely small amount of venom. they are very fast but not aggressive at all and prefer to hide or play dead.
but i keep my S. hahni with the same caution as my other potentially lethal animals and i would never encourage anybody to do different!
