| I really doubt this is a androctonus sp, these are buthid scorpions and you aren't allowed to keep them in britain legally without a DWA permit. it's probably some other species. I really doubt it's an A.amoreuxi. |

| see if you can get a pic? heres a link of a very good representation of an amourexi. even if it is small, the big giveaways are going to be the lyre-shaped marking on the front of the carapace, and the heavy rows of granulation on the tail. keep in mind these are smaller than many other commonly available non-buthid scorpions, maxing out at only a few inches.

| They're also not as fat-tailed as most fattails.
If it is an A. amoreuxi, get it, get it fast, and don't tell anyone. It's virtually impossible to find buthids in the UK.
If it's not, it may be something such as Vaejovis spinigerus -- at a glance a large V. spinigerus can look a lot like a small A. amoreuxi. I recall an ID thread on here where it came down to those two species. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

| They're about the size of an H. arizonensis, maybe a little smaller. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

Hot 'n' dry. Give 'em something to dig a scrape out under (probably won't burrow)._________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

| If it's that wee, it may just be a V. spinigerus. Care is pretty much the same. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blog Be nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

| hmmm... obviously... be careful with it. if for any reason your having trouble with it or you dont like the idea of having a dangerous scorp then pass it on to one of the other, more experienced keepers. get it as fast as you can please! i dont want any little, irrisponsible kid getting it for their birthday! double cage it and keep it very secure. dont want a serious sting in the UK and the government get all worried and ban all scorps!
dont worry, we wont tell anyone u got it. (its probably something else btw)
how much is it? |
