I used my cheapy ebay webcam to take some shots of my Flat Rock scorps (I assume Hadogenes troglodytes?).

Some quite cool pics I think, what do you reckon?

If it's anything other than a paucidens it could be really hard to ID, there are alot of hadogenes spp that look like troglodytes... although you aren't likely to get any of those in the pet trade. they are all kept in the same conditions either way though lol.

It's an H. paucidens. That's the only species common in the hobby with the banding on the tergites.

Ah ok, ta. Well, they were from a reptile shop, who had got the whole clutch from a private breeder, so sounds about right.

Your in for a long wait till that thing matures if its only like 1 inch just now, i think they take like 5-7 years to mature, ive had a juvenile since the start of july last year and its still not moulted, or fed since i got it.

Yeh, thats what I have heard! I have two females. One has moulted once, the other twice, and both are brilliant feeders. But... I am prepared to wait, lol. Just means I only need smaller boxes for them and they take up less space for now Razz Smile
