Well this weekend I constructed a mimic rock bachground for my bark scorpions. It was made from spray foam and then I painted it with rock texture paint. The question is, will this be safe for the scorpions. I know scorpions are pretty indestructable when it comes to toxins. What are your opinions? I will post pics in a few days. Thanks.

Let it air-dry for a few days and then smell it. If you can smell solvents or propellants, don't use it.
It should probably be ok by then, though, since most of those chemicals are volatiles (meaning they evaporate easily).

That's what I was thinking. I smelt it last night and it was basically oderless. Tonight I might setup the enclosure.

make sure the paint is water proof.. so it doesnt give out toxins when it gets wet..

Looks cool. I've always wanted to do something like that.
Did you use "Good Stuff" or w/e it's called?

I did use good stuff. It seemed to work alright. The only problem is there are a few gaps in the back where they hide. Next time I will use 2 inch foam and carve it out with a soldering gun. I've used the texture paint for some small rivers in Christmas village scenes before and it seems to be water proof.
