Hiding scorpions Empty
PostSubject: Hiding scorpions   Hiding scorpions Empty11/21/2008, 7:48 am

I know that scorpions pass most of their time in their burrows, and that they don't come out at night. It's been 3 weeks I have my emperors, The first week they came out every night from their hiding spot I gave them. Now their dug their burrows, and they barely come out, almost a whole week. Should I get worried, maybe it's too hot or too humid? I keep the temp around 24 degrees, and humidity between 80 and 90.

That's normal.
They live their life underground most of their life anyway.

They were coming out all the time initially because they weren't used to their new surroundings and were still figuring them out.

Now, they've just "settled in." I usually only see one or two pairs of claws sticking out of a burrow when it comes to my emps.

The last time I saw my emps was about 3 months ago when I dug them up to make sure they were still alive, replace their substrate(if needed), and make sure there isn't any mold down in their burrow where I can't see it. Otherwise, it's just claws. They don't even come up for water anymore, I don't know why I bother keeping their water dish full all the time :p but oh well, they seemed quite happy, at least until I destroyed their home. That kinda ticked em off.
