| I almost said they look like tuataras, but Uromastyx was what I was thinking of. Either way, they look like cute miniature Gojirras. | |

| yeah they are great, very interesting, they can live over 100 years, infact one of the ones in a zoo in new zeland is still mating at 100+ years old, but i think they only breed every 7 years or something which makes them really hard to try repopulate unfortunately, so im afraid we will loose them eventually, what I like is they dont have the typical ear of a lizard thats what classes them as tuataras I think they have an outy ear instead of an inny so to speak lol | |

| this explains the whole ear thing alot better than I did lol
Hearing . – The tuatara has no visible external ears, no eardrum, and the middle ear cavity is filled with loose tissue (mostly adipose tissue). The hair cells of the ear are unspecialised and respond only to low frequencies. Even though the hearing organs are poorly developed and primitive with no visible external ears, tuatara show a frequency response from 100-800 Hz, with peak sensitivity of 40 dB at 200 Hz.
so now you all know lmao, go look at a pic and it will really stand uot that theres no hole now lol | |
