PostSubject: San Diego, CA scorpion - PIX and VID   10/30/2008, 5:36 am

So after finishing up some web design on my computer around 2am, on my way out of my room i noticed a small scorpion staring at me. Caught the little guy and have been feeding him small crickets... (he's fast)

I have no idea what type and if he's full grown or how much bigger he might get. Any help would be appreciated.

It does look a lot like the seradigitus I just caught but it also kinda looks like a vajovid speices proably v. puritanus. Which would explain the speed.

You guys are crazy with classifications... all 3 look on par with the other search images I did. At least now i'm closer to what to call it.

Thanks for chiming. Now i'll have to read some care sheets and make sure I keep the little guy happy.

I'm not going to handle this guy in any way, so I don't expect to get stung... thanks for the info though.

(does this look as large as it's going to get?)

Okay, little guy speed!

Now that I have him pissed off, lets see better photos..

I'm afraid I couldn't get a decent shot of the pectines. You guys are probably right, based on location and what I've given you, it's probably V. puritanus. (awesome forum by the way)

Anyway of knowing how old this one might be?

I'd say from the pectines that whatever it is, it's a male.

Sorry I can't answer your age question (but I'm glad you like the forum! Very Happy).
