| you may wanna move the beardies bowl to the other end of the tank, food spoils under the heat quickly, and if its for water, it being under the heat lamp raises the humidity up. Im not gunna start the sand argument haha, but if ur interested i can show u pictures why people disagree with it | |

| I never had a problem with my beardies on sand. although i have seen how badly it can affect juvi's. Especially people putting them on calci-sand. So out of curiosity what do people recommend to keep beardies on now... coz mine hated wood chip! | |

| wood whip is also bad lisa, mainly cuz of impaction but also because it can tear th insides and cause bleeding, i use solid substrates so i have some with shelf liner the non adhesive kind, and some on vinyl tile purely because there is 0% chance of impaction lol The thing with sand is that impaction is a possibility especially in younger dragons so I opt for something i know cant give impaction
I know they dont live on shelf liner in the wild but in fairness they dont live on sand either they live on compacted clay and dirt. Obviously depending on sub species coastel eastern central etc etc but most in the pet trade are pogona vitticeps the central bearded dragon and they very rarely come into contact with sand
im going to stop now as i am ranting

Abd also everyone is so interested in bearded dragons having impaction... What about the fact that a beardy need high UV..... I see No UV light. well no cord for the light and also no difference in the colour of light. Beardys need a UV of 10.0 and my BD UV light changes half the tank a blue tinge.

| i didnt think of the Uv to be honest i assumed it was turned off as uv bulbs make it hard to take pictures, and beardies dnt need 10.00 as such they need the highest possible lol which is an arcadias 12% but now im just nit picking | |
