It's actually BETWEEN the eyes, which is why they call it intraoccular. It's a darker triangle like if you drew lines from the median eyes to the two sets of lateral eyes.

It's also like the opposite of H. arizonensis who has a lightened intraocular triangle.

It's more noticeable in some specimens than others.

It's pretty noticeable in these ones:



And less noticeable:


I think your problem may be that it blends a little into the stripes immediately behind it.



(haha, I did an image search for "vittatus" and the first results were a dart frog species I saw in Costa Rica.)
