Omg it's gorgeous! I miss mine more now. In case you didn't know (which you probably did) just keep it like a Haplo. Aren't the orange hairs the best?!

oooh yes he is!

Its quite funny really she has a new enclosure and refuses to come off the kitchen roll she was packaged in! In fact she is spinning it all together to make sure she cant be moved lol!

We have looked at other pictures of this species and they all look slightly lighter than she is. Is there a dark colour form to this species?

And yes the orange hairs are lovely... just need to get her in the right light to get that sheen you see on pictures.

at about 1am this morning she finally came out so i pulled the kitchen roll out. and for a 'burrowing' tarantula she is asleep in the top corner of her enclosure!

aye but it turns out it isn't O.Aureotibialis. Its not arboreal! It burrows!

It's some sort of Haplopelma, but which one we're not sure of. Not that we're complaining she is stunning!

IIRC, Ornithoctonus are burrowers, and not arboreals. Lori had a pair and the female made quite a nice burrow, actually. And they are close relatives of Haplopelma. When Lori posted pics of hers everyone tried telling her that's what it was. I believe they're in the same subfamily, though.
