some do have a reddy hue to them, some have been blueish...but could just be a picture.
Ive never shone a flash light on my pandinus imperator but if I did im pretty sure it would be reddish as "Stingy's" chela looks reddish in natural light.
My pandinus cavimanus manius is obviously more red in colour then my pandinus imperator

post a picie if you are concerned.
Pandinus Imperator have very bumpy and hairy chela. Depending on age, when mature a brown/reddy telson.
My pandinus cavimanus is one of the most agressive scorpions I own! Ive never know a scorpion in my care so ready to attack! So ready to JUMP and attack at the smallest of things...be it tongs, water being poured in/misted in after wards...lid opening etc.
My Pandinus are all pussy cats and run away and hide at the smallest of things!

Ive noticed that in a "cornered" situation (when trying to get out when wanting to clean tank) is very very defensive when agression doesnt work. Chela used as a shield. Never seen my pandinus make so much of a thing about a shield with chela.
I guess they just accept that they cant run and go "ok then..."

My adult female. You can see red, slightly bumpy chela and legs with a reddy tinge too. Black telson. In natural light not as obvious but more so then a slight hue that is found with a pandinus imperator

Here's an older pic: https://i.servimg.com/u/f43/12/53/64/04/dsci2410.jpg

It's probably an emp, but I'm unsure. I bought it at a pet store and they had it separated from all of the other ones for some reason (it was labeled as an emp).

She's aggressive.

is that 4I
Chela doesnt look hairy in the pic. Mine at 4I you can see the teeny tiny hairs.
chela does have a lot of granulation....But...due to lots of granulation...I would probably have to say pandinus imperator. Also the hue isnt as red...but I know colour isnt a good way to ID.

(in what I talk about hairy chela, I know cavimanus do but not to the extend of imperator)
I can barely notice them on my female but I can on my female P.imperator.

Ive also never seen a juvi cavimanus only adult....

Definitely P. imperator. As Connie mentioned, some natural color variation can be present from scorp to scorp.

Thanks. I wasn't sure because of the reddish hue to the chela and it's temper.

yea that's an Emp little sub adult. you can tell by the stinger its not adult.

the color you see is right, Red. but the Blue Connie is mentioning about hers would be the ex Skeleton reacting to the UV rays coming off the bulb.

That was my guess, but those who hadn't seen your post a while back when it died might not have known what was going on.
