Can I use excavator sand for them? Or would I have to do something like 2 parts excavator sand and 1 part regular sand?

I have no idea Surprised

Thanks.

I would dilute the excavator sand with the ratio you suggested. It makes it much easier for the scorp to burrow.

Yup. Just about any desert invert that likes to burrow.

Sad story about when I didn't dilute the excavator enough...
I had a female B. californicum (california native trapdoor) and she burrowed down and didn't come back up. I let about a month or so pass before I dug up a very malnourished almost dead spider. She didn't end up making it Sad

Actually it's the other way around. 2 part regular sand 1 part escavator. That thing get really hard.

Everything is said and done now with 2 parts ex. and 1 part reg. I don't feel like redoing everything >.>

If it's absolutely necessary, I will redo it..

Well..it's gonna get really hard and the scorp wont be able to make it's own burrows.

I could make a premade burrow... Maybe throw some regular sand in it so that the scorp can dig it out making it think that it's making it's own burrow.

I've got a piece of cork board (just bought some today) that I used to construct it:
Substrate for Andros Dsci0412
The lighter-looking sand is raised up. Can't really see it too well from that angle.

Edit: Ya, Eddy. This is my first time with a desert spp. I think it looks good Smile

Thanks Smile

It's actually raised over an inch. Doesn't look like it from the pic, though Razz

I just hope I bought the right stuff. It was with the sand and concrete stuff. It looks like sand but chunkier. I forget the exact name of the stuff.

Nope. Got it at Lowes. I swear that I heard someone say they got the stuff at a hardware store.

I prolly got the wrong stuff. Luckily it was only $3 for a 50lb bag.
