2 gave birth today, silvestrii & hentzi

This morning i was getting ready to head down to my home-to-be to get back to remodeling. As I was waiting for the coffee finish brewing i was looking in on my T's and scorpions (as i always do ) and notice that my P. silvestrii and one of my hentzi had gave birth to a good amount of scorplings, at least so far they look like a good size.

The silvestrii was gravid? LOL cool. A step closer to having those in the hobby as well.

thanks everyone for the comments, i just wish i had a pic to show them off.

the P. silvestrii had 12, but she ate all of them but 8 yesterday, the other 4 didn't look to good, like they were deformed or something i guess that is why she ate them. Then when i arrived home from work to look in the new moms, i noticed there were only 5 left on her back, i guess she didn't have her fill on the scorplings.
Now the hentzi brood seems to be juts fine, thank God

Yeah Eddy, maybe there is a chance for more of these in the hobby. I am hoping that the other silvestrii may be a female that could be gravid too lol.


Dustin, my two silvestrii are like 3 inches, the scorplings on the mother's back are tiny and white. And i hope your female don't end up eating a few of her babies like mine did.

Mum will not eat though hunger. either stress or if something wrong with the babies. Nothing you can control.
its out of your hands.

sorry to hear! hopefully the rest will survive...it must be nature's way to recover protein when the babies don't all turn out well...

another update:
there is only 3 left on her back, caught her munching on 2

i know this happens, nothing i can do. But this saddens me. oh well

damn silvestrii and there big appetites. I recomend feeding her while she has babies I did that to mine and had minor casualties.

Just feed her everyday...thats weird. It's probably stress.

but from my expriance they burrow. Not sure if its neccesarry for birth though.

that's gotta be really gutting...hope you can save the other two...
