hehehehe

They are lovely!

Although mine havent been out at ALL! so im a bit pouty about that. I even have the tank next to me on the other table. This isnt their final place but its so I can have a looksie and as they are in a glass tank the cats havent been able to move it...not that they have been out to tease the cats like the others do!

If you are ordering from the spider shop....good grrrl! they are much cheaper on there and they do a bulk deal for 3.

Although I do think I could have a gravid female that is burried! So we never know...I could have gold dust babies!

We are going to the shop today and buying crickets. So those containers will be kept for if and when I discover that she really is gravid...or has given birth!

naah i'd leave her for now. wait until she is looking more gravid to be sure, she's bound to appear at some point. they're still settling in at the end of the day.

PostSubject: Re: Caraboctonus keyserlingi   8/20/2008, 3:29 am

I saw her the week before I bought them. They did dig her up for me to see. Nice little plump scorpion, be it male or female.
I can see a "space" if the tank is lifted at the back left hand corner.. So for now im leaving her be. I am a bit worried because there is no entrace hole but...she clearly doesnt want there to be an entrace hole...but as its just sand, im sure she can walk out if she wants!

Im going to mist the tank tonight. Just one spray. But I think all is well with the others, I think they have just found little holes they like...the hole they wee after was where some cork bark is standing up. One dug under the point where it touches the ground. They fought over that but the bully didnt win so is now living under the water bowl. I only know this because the sand has been kicked out and there is a little entrace. Ha, for all I know they could both be in that little hidey hole!!!

In the next week or so the substrate will be changed and I will have to go though all the fighting again hehehehe.
But for now im just leaving them be

I'll post a pic of my set up if you like. Personally i think i may need to give them a bigger enclosure but they seem happy enough and have hardly scuffled at all.

But on the other hand if they are 'happy' with the safety of the area of their home i may just leave them to it! I know some species be it tarantula's or scorpions prefer a more 'snug' set up.

I CAN SEE ONE!
Seems to be having a tiff with another who is the one who lives under the water bowl dish thing *very shallow*
Well...at least I know two must be alive since he wouldnt be having a tiff on his own!

SUPER!

YAY! in so many weeks. I see movement...but no head just back end and tail moving about!

ITS ALIVE! ITS ALIVE!

WOO-HOO!!!! Connies scorps are OK!

Actually I have had to separate two of the females... One looks very heavily gravid. 2 were rather plump when we got them but now they have settled in the aggression factor went up 10 fold.

So have the remaining male and female in the big tub.
