| I would if you are prepared. These snakes get very large and have quite the appetite. You will need a large to super large enclosure. Care for them is pretty simple so dont worry about that. Worry about the financial/space portion of it. | |

| Yeah my mate had HUGE python, it needed a room to itself. problem was that it got that big he was feeding it piglets and hares so costing him a fortune. The girlfriend left him coz he wouldn't get rid of the snake.
for some reason the snake turned aggressive on him, i.e. looking at him as though he was food. He managed to find a zoo that would take it. but they had to feed it the biggest bunny they could get their hands on so the python was subdued after its meal. It took 6 blokes to HEAVE it into a kingsize quilt cover, and the same 6 men to but it in the back of a van. It was that heavy one of the blokes did his back in!
My mate here in the flat had a friend with another large python. She let it roam the house. On a night time it would curl up next to her. Anyhow it stopped eating and she took it to the vets. There was nothing wrong with the snake... it was starving itself because it no longer saw her as its owner... just its next meal. It had been sizing her up for about 7 months! So they had to put it down.
Both true stories i jest you not
So here's the lesson, after knowing the story's... dont get a BIG snake before you're ready to have one in the conditions it deserves to be kept in. | |

| i grew up with a burm and it had its on room there awesome snakes, but you do really need to have a lot of experience and always have a few people around while handling a big snake like a burm or a retic takes a few people to stop if it wants to coil you lmao | |

| I used to have an 11ft red tail boa. Man that was a wrestling job getting her back into the viv. She worked out to put a coil around my leg and throw me 7 feet backwards! Always used to have 2 people in the room when she was out she was a big lassie! | |

| I don't think you need a whole lot of experience. After they reach a certain point you can't really hold it anymore. At that point you should open its enclosure with someone else with you anyways. Anything over 8 feet you should have someone with you. Kind of scary to think about. Most snakes are easy. You clean up after them and feed and water them. I just don't think the financial burden is worth it. You could always get it and turn around and sell it. | |
