PostSubject: Locating C. Vittatus   7/24/2008, 2:38 pm

I am going to my grandparents house this week for a few days for a visit. They live in west texas so i thought "Hey! I could find more scorpions there." I already plan on looking around with a black light at night but any other help on locating would be great. I know they tend to stick to bark because...well they're bark scorpions. Would it be a good idea to look where bark has been opened off a tree or in cracks in a tree? Just need some pointers.

Thanks, Ryan

The only vittatus we found blacklighting was wandering along the edge of a dirt road.

Look near vegetation and flip lots of rocks. That's all I can really suggest.
