| I am thinking about: Hoffmannius spinigerus or heterometus longimanus

| Heterometrus are nice, but they take a little longer to mature.
I'd look into Centruroides species if I were you.

| I see C. Hentzi & Vittatus are pretty easy to come by. I just worry about their venom levels, I see several spurces saying to seek medical attention after sting. | |

| Really the only Centruroides species that's commonly available that has medically significant venom is C. sculpturatus. | |

| Thanks! I was looking at heterometus longimanus v/s centruroides gracilis
I know Heterometus grows more slowly (how much more so?) and is not as communal as c. gracilis but beyond that I read that a lot of people really love the hererometus. So I'm curious, what makes them so awesome?

| Well I'd disagree on C. gracilis being more communal. As adults they're fine, but as juveniles it's not uncommon for cannibalism to occur during molting. So if you plan on getting C. gracilis, I recommend separating them once they reach 2nd instar.
Heterometrus is one of my favorite genera. They get very large, are easy to breed and care for, most are communal, and it's quite a diverse genus.
Since H. longimanus seems to be your focus, I suggest reading Alex's caresheet on them. It should answer all your questions. http://www.scorpion-forum.com/t8256-asf-heterometrus-longimanus
