I have one and most of the needle part of the stinger is missing, only has a small part sticking out... Can it still sting?

It probably cant. I had a jacksoni who lost her telson but still had her poop shoot so she was able to deliver me multiple healthy broods! I just had to prekill all her food for her.

I had an indivodual with tje same issue. It would still try to sting but wasn't very effective. If it's very young (2nd to 3rd instar) there's a chance it will regenerate. If it's any older it probably will not.
