Getting my Emporer a friend!

Hi,

I got my first scorpion in the beginning of December, I have him in a 45x45x45 viv. I have read since getting him that they can be quite social creatures and like to be kept in pairs or small groups, so was thinking of getting a friend for my emperor. But with already having had him on his own for about 5 weeks I don't want to upset him by adding a 2nd emperor into the viv.

What I would like to know is can and should I get a 2nd scorpion to keep my first 1 company, or will it course problems?

Any advise would be appreciated.

Hello, and welcome to the forum.

You shouldn't have any problems introducing another scorpion. Make sure the new scorpion is of a similar size to your current one, keep an eye out for any aggression between them (although it would be pretty unlikely with this species) and maybe rearrange the tank and place them in together so they're both in a 'new' place.

I'm looking forward to getting a 2nd scorp now. My wife got me a web cam with nightvision on it for christmas, it's been great watching him when the lights go out. It'll be even better with 2 to watch.
