Small Scorpion care

So I picked up a few scorpions at the expo. 2 hottentotta trilineatus and a Ophistothalmus walberghi.

The walberghi isn't to small I guess (not big by any means), and the breeder/seller told me it had just molted not long ago.

The two hottentotta are super small, the smaller of the two looks pretty fat, not sure if it had eaten recently, or a sign of upcoming molt? Its very lethargic, doesn't move hardly and let a cricket creep all over him. I hope its healthy and not dying on me. :-/

Is there any extra care I need to know about? I wasn't expecting them to be so tiny.

I read somewhere that small scorpions are more apt. to kill or eat each other? Should I leave them in the small deli-cups? Or just let them free in the 10 gallon. Not sure how easy it will be to find them and be able to feed them. I figure I will kill the crickets and only give them half of it at a time for now?

Just don't want the little guys to die on me.

Has for watering, should I just place a few bottle caps around with water? Or just mist?

I have done a lot of research on the two different species, just not how to care for the young.

Well from what one member said, Hottentotta sp. seem to tolerate each other once they're all adults but as a general rule, most desert sp. should be kept singly.

Bottle caps or small butter dishes with stones are fine for their drinking water.

You're first scorp looks male coz of the bulbous pedipalps and the 2nd one if they're the same instar, i'd assume a female due to the not-so-bulbous pedipalps and the robust body that could either suggest it is in premolt or it is gravid.

Hottentottas are really small. Most are under 2" if stretched all out as adults

Funny, I just got an email from where I bought them from. They said the exact same thing about the sexing and either molt or gravid.

I hope she's not going to pop babies, my gf will flip. I was suppose to buy max two scorps and came home with three. First thing she said... You better not be breeding... lol

I didn't realize they were so small. I'm thinking they still have a bit of growing to do.. I kinda hope. I don't want to try and take a measurement until I feel more comfortable with them and get to know them a bit better. Not wanting to get stung by these guys. Careful careful.

Hahaha! I remember the first time i had H.hottentotta babies. I was so stressed once they all got off the mom's back. There were too many that i didn't know what to do/make of them

Inch-long adults (unstretched) for the Hottentotta sp. are quite common. There are smaller species of scorpions so do not be alarmed haha! Despite their size they can easily take on small to medium-sized crickets.

My female is a fair bit smaller compared to the male, so I'm thinking she has a bit of growing to do. I had them separated with a piece of cardboard down the center. Came home last night and the male had scaled the wall and was with her. I still separated them again.

She still hasn't eaten anything. Do they eat much when there gravid or about to molt? She may just be stressed. However the male has eaten 3 Large crickets the size of him since I got them.

I'm also thinking I may need a heating lamp above the enclosure  opposed to the heating mat I have. They spend a lot of there time out in the open against the glass where the heating pad is.

My young O. walberghi hasn't eaten anything either. However he has dug a small burrow at the shallow end of his tank. Go figure.
