Fruit flies infestation! Empty

Guys I'm having a problem with these damn fruit flies on my emp's hide. The hide is made out of bark. Everytime I spray my tank with water for humidity, these flies come out from the top of my hide.

How do I sanitize this thing and stop these flies from being in my tank?

Here's a picture of my tank and the hide.

haha!. try pouring hot water over the hide to kill any eggs left. don't boil. a light scrubbing would help too. fruit flies are harmless anyways and may appear if they smell something fruity or woody in your tank especially your substrate

Yes, fruit flies feed on decaying organic matter. They don't eat or lay eggs on scorpions but they can be very unpleasant visually
