I know that scorpions are already fluorescent by nature. But given the recent breakthrough for the last couple of years regarding genetically modified bioluminescence in vertebrates seem to have peeked my interest.

Would you guys be interested in glow in the dark scorpions? Meaning, no more black light/UV flashlight to see them glow? Very Happy

Just curious to see how many are interested if ever they were available and introduced into the hobby

Thoughts only! Not meant to start any flames Smile

Bioluminescence is very cool. Scorpions are very cool. Put them together and you get super cool. Cool I think genetically engineered Bioluminescent scorpions is a great idea, as are genetically engineered two tailed scorpions and albino emperors.  Very Happy

That would be interesting to see... I just know that it will bring in other problems as well.

An albino emperor... Now that would be an interesting sight, indeed...

The moment we start messing about with animals is the same moment we lose respect for them....Do you all think it's just as ok to start experimenting with humans this way?...i'm guessing the answer is no...Thats because we have more respect for humans..In an ideal world we'd also have just as much respect for every living thing....So perceiving aniamls as experiments or play things or cool toys just focuses, in my point opinion, on the fact that we have no respect for them as living creatures and see them only as an extension of our own curiosity....

If scorpions were meant to be flourescent under any circumstances then they would have been made that way.

So basically making them glow all the time will probably lead to a very stressful death as they don't see the light illuminating them but detect it with their cuticle so being glow in the dark will probably effect it negatively imo.
