Post pics up when you do, it's rare to find anything other than Phrynus marginemaculatus and Damon diadema for sale in the US. I'd get some myself if I had the space.

I'm not really sure to be honest. Frankly I wouldn't worry about the humidity; just keep the substrate slightly moist and have a water dish available.

Congrats man, post some pics up!

Well, they stop eating, get pretty fat and become distinctly less active. So, pretty much the same as in scorpions and tarantulas.

Could be getting ready to molt, could still be acclimating to its new environment, could be it's just not hungry.

What size and type of prey have you tried feeding?

Sorry for the late reply,
Anyway, I have tried giving it small(1/2-3/4in)crickets, and it wont eat. It is also walking on the substrate more than the wood. Is it ok?

Ohh so this is what it was..

Your setup should have a dry side substrate and a damp side substrate. A cave-like hide should in the middle of these two sides. A small water dish in the dry side and leaf litter in the damp side is suitable. Lots of vertical barks and rocks should be provided for climbing. Above 90% humidity should be provided at all times and temps should between 15-24 degrees Celsius (60-75F). Any lighting should be avoided as they hate light. Black light can be used though. Their lifespan is like most whips and tailless, between 2-5 years Smile

Tongue Flicker, this species is actually from a more arid area than most Amblypygids, and don't require as much moisture as most people think. Now, that's not to say you should keep them bone dry, either. I'd say keep the substrate slightly moist, and lightly mist once a week or so. Also, NEVER use UV lights as a primary light source for any arachnid. Every once in a while is fine, but prolonged exposure can be detrimental to their health. I also don't see the point of using it; they don't glow like scorpions. The red heat bulbs (often called "infra red", which is misleading as true infra red isn't in the visible spectrum) commonly used for reptiles may be used however. I have no idea what the lifespan for this species is, and you may very well be correct in that it's only 2-5 years, but most species are reported to live considerably longer than that.

@ deserthairyscorpion1, have you tried rearranging the enclosure or perhaps offering a larger, more varied environment? This species isn't a strict arboreal by the way, either, so don't worry about it being on the ground too much. In fact, they're often found hanging upside down in abandoned rodent burrows.

Before you rearrange the tank though, try with smaller food items. Perhaps 1/4 to 1/3 inch crickets would do the trick.

I did say provide a dry side for the substrate. I used to house them in a 5-gallon glass tank with a mesh cover since overheating and over moisture is more an issue here. I've kept a pair of these before i even had scorpions ordering them from someone in malaysia. They've been around with me for a couple of years before moving on Smile

I did rearrange the enclosure, and there are lots more hiding spots. It is doing well, and looks as if it will molt soon.

Cool. Post some pics up when it molts!

Slightly off topic but this is as good a spot to post as any; one of my Damon diadema molted a few days ago.
