How do you distinguish the differences between these and bicolor's ?? Thanks! I don`t, I just listen to what the dealer tells me I belive A.bicolor is black, and more "metallic" than A.mauritanicus. A.crassicaude are usually brownish i think. BUT, i`m not the one to ask about this. Haven`t keept enought individuals to be sure about what i stated above. Regards Robin | |

| Hi,
usually coloration is not the best way to ID a scorpion. To tell for sure you have to look at the granulations on the lateral side of the metasoma. Alex Tietz/Nazgul posted about it on the German board. If you don't understand German you can at least look at the pictures he posted. If you compare the granules on the metasoma you see the difference.

| Simply beautiful specimens, Robin. Don't A. bicolor's legs appear lighter closer to the tarsi? Or am I mistaken? That's what I've noticed different about it from A. mauritanicus, and as stated, A. crassicauda usually appears more brown. . . . Of course, some people tell me that colors are a bad way to distinguish species . . . | |
