| i have like a 40 gal tank and its tall can i house desert hairys in that without a lid? or can they climb out? | |

| All of your enclosures should have a secure lid. They're just as important for keeping things out (people, pets, pests, falling objects, etc.) as they are for keeping your animals in. Scorpions can't climb glass, but they can climb the silicon sealing the corners of glass tanks. Young instars have also been known to climb the mineral film that accumulates on enclosure walls. I've also had scorpions use their pedipalps to climb thermometer prob wires. | |
