That is a puncture wound and has nothing to do with mycosis. It could have happened if she has been kept communal with other scorps of her specie or it could be a sexual sting from a male if she has been mated, alternatively it could have happened if she had been in a container that had been shaken about under transport, especially if there was any hard edges in the container with her as in a bit of folded up newspaper.......still, whatever the cause there's not to much to worry about. The wound looks as if it's healing plus there's no obvious leakage of body fluids so she'll undoubtedly be as right as rain....She looks adult to me and if this is the case then she won't be moulting anymore however if she's subadult then there's a very good chance that that little wound will disappear completely after her next moult.....but whether it does or don't won't make any difference to her well being no more than a little scar on your arm would affect you be able to live your life normally..

Thanks,

she has been housed alone in the same enclosure for some 6 months. No sharp objects, no males or any of the above. Needed to remove her one with tweezers to do some cage maintenance, wonder if she did not accidently get her telson lodged into her body. She is extremely feisty and as wild as can be, a real handful.

Hmmm, seems a bit unlikely that she could have inflicted that wound on herself although who knows, strange things do occasionally happen. One thing I'd like to address though is your usage of tweezers...I know you can read all over the net that tweezers are the way to go with regards to moving or relocating scorps and on the face of it, it sounds reasonable...The thing is though that unless you know exactly what you are doing you can easily damage the metasoma if you grip to hard or get hold of the wrong segment and a damaged metasoma can easily lead to death due to stoppages. Another thing is scorps, especially larger scorps can often twist around and work themselves free, letting them fall to the ground/table/whatever or on you.
In my opinion it's far better to simply use small containers to relocate a scorp from A to B..Simply usher the scorp into the container using a pen/pencil/tweezers/stick/whatever. Make sure the container is high enough to stop the scorpion getting out of it and then simply relocate it...Doing it this way eliminates any possible risk of potentially damaging your scorp or dropping your scorp .. it's also most likely less stressful for the scorp to.

I have a female with a bigger black sore on her side as well, but its never seemed to interfere with her well being, over 3 years now. I still don't know how she got the black leathery patch though. Keep a good eye on that one and take some photos of her side when she molts, im curious about it.

Your positive she didn't have the sore before you acquired her? It looks like a puncture wound to me also. And she looks pretty thick, too. Is it possible that whoever had her before you had her in with a male that mated with her?
