Pedipalp not moving Empty
PostSubject: Pedipalp not moving   Pedipalp not moving Empty11/14/2013, 11:24 pm

I noticed one of my HH has an immobile pedipalp. Just on one pedipalp. He can't flex it to open or close and he can't stretch it anymore. I've read online that sometimes this happens to emps but as long as the other pedipalp is okay and can still capture prey then she should be fine.

Is this caused by something? Mycosis? Virus? Late progressive congenital defect?

This is new to me so i'm considering this an emergency.

Cheers! Very Happy

You don't see any sigh of mycosis? Does the limb otherwise look normal? Is she eating? Maybe you should give her somewhat smaller than normal prey that is easy to kill???

Pedipalp looks normal, no signs of mycosis as i don't mist or give water dishes to any of my desert scorp sp., she could still take down prey as usual but she doesnt move or use the other pedipalp anymore. I tried to poke it with a stick and gave no reaction lol

Any chance you can get a pic? Is it dragging the pedipalp or is it just the chela itself that has been affected? Could it have possibly injured the pedipalp by falling or something like that?

I'll try to get a clear close pic up, she's always in her hide. I think just the chela is affected as she cant close/open it. I doubt it'd fall on anything. It only has sand and an inch high hide on her tub haha
