Both have munched a roach...that Vaejovis Coahuilae is not playing when it comes to food! The H. Spadix is being shy. I'll get a good pic of it soon. I have really missed having scorpions around! They are just so much more fun than the T's. I have enjoyed today immensely! hysterical

H. Spadix in the cave. She's eaten 2 big roaches in about 2 weeks. Haven't seen her out of this spot. I put a bookend against the glass, so I can check in as I need.

Vaejovis Coahuilae munching a roach nymph. These are rowdy.

Keeping it on a mix of sand and cocofiber. Put a pile of cocofiber on one side on top of the sand and wet it down a bit. It made a burrow under this cocofiber by digging out the sand underneath. It has a dry side with a fake leaf hide. Surprisingly, it spends a lot of time in the damp burrow. They seem to like more humidity than most desert types. It even drinks droplets off the side of the enclosure. My best guess is this little one is 4i, so I'll have a few molts to get through.Bayss' new arrivals VCoahuilae002

Paruroctonus Boreus feeding on a roach nymph and enclosure pics.

This species is special to me because it is the only species found in my home state of Idaho. They have been found as far north as Canada. This one is on the sand/cocofiber mix. Keeping this a bit more dry. I just dampen a small line of the cocofiber. This guy spends most of it's time out on the rocks. Will use the dry leaf hide occasionally. Again, I'm guessing it is about 4th instar.

Here are the newest members to the family...Hottentotta jayakari. These have been on the wish list for a long time. I'm only mildly tempted to let them pinch me to make sure I'm not still dreaming tongue Enjoy!

Love these so much!  After 2 weeks they really seem to be more interested in crickets than the dubia roaches.  Any suggestions to getting them off crickets and on the roaches...They are eating once a week, so I don't want to force it too much as prey are their only water source.  Maybe a few water drops on the side of the enclosure once a week and leave a small roach in for a couple days at a time??  Suggestions welcome! Very Happy
