| Hey everyone, some of you may remember a while ago me asking various questions about setting up an asian forest tank? Well I have now got everything and have got back off holiday so its all systems go! Im currently watching my 2 bricks of substrate expand in the water I can then start the decor! I'm going to ring the local reptile shop and ask what they have got in they may have to order an asian forest but hey whats a few more days? I plan to get a baby and watch it grow! Is this a good choice? I will post pictures when I'm done! P.S Hope everyone had a good halloween! _________________ One Life...Live It!

| If it's a big tank, I'd suggest several babies. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blogBe nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

| Oh ok, why is that? are babies harder to look after? I have just done my substrate but instead of doing 1 brick with 4 litres i did 2 bricks with 8.5 litres and well i think I havent got enough substrate and its to damp =[ _________________ One Life...Live It!

| yea there a bit more sensitive. go for a couple of 4i scorps and you will get 2 more moults till adult so probably over a year and that way your not getting some old one with a few weeks left. look around a bit. you can often find a better deal on the internet. ill have a look for you. |

| Sorry what does 4i mean? I think I'm just going to stick to the 1 for now. I never thoguht about ordering over the internet isn't it cruel? Is it even legal? lol I'm after an asian forest scorpion I think as that is what I have based my set up as, i.e the type of substrate the bark etc. Heterometrus spinifer I think the name is? But I'd be happy with another type of species if things suit. Also what does juveniele mean? _________________ One Life...Live It!

| Buying over the net isn't cruel or illegal; it's standard practice. And Binky's rule of thumb only works for emperors and a couple species of Heterometrus. By the way, 4I means "fourth instar," which isn't the same as fourth molt - it means it's molted three times in its life. They're born at 1I and after the first molt they're 2I, and so on and so forth. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blogBe nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |
