| Family has been thinking about adopting an imprinted on, injured flightless crow. Corvus corone. I know all about them, that they need toys, and how intelligent, etc. and what to feed. But is it really a good idea? wont specifically be my pet. _________________ |

| I would adopt one in a heartbeat. While they can't talk, crows are EXTREMELY intellegent. I love them. |

| Go for it if you can give it an outdoor aviary. Lots of room should make it feel less "caged in." And crows can talk, though not as much as some birds. _________________ If your emperor scorpion stops eating, don't panic. | My reviews | My Bug Pictures | My blogBe nice -- you were a noob once, too "Never ask an engineer to explain something, because he will." |

| With my budgiee i used to always let it out round my room, used to love sitting on my curtain rail, but i guess this crow wont be doing much flying if its flightless, but yeah should be intresting, im pretty sure they can move fast on foot cant they? Watch him/her, might be a sneaky one lol |

An aviary might not be a great Idea as by the sounds of it this bird cant fly, So large open spaces could cause extra stress, plus they can climb pretty well so if it climbed to the top of the aviary and then fell it could hurt itself as it cant fly lol I reckon It would probably do much better on a low perch in a house and able to roam around the house relatively freely.
I love crows they are so smart, cant say I have ever heard one speak though mike lol have you seen a video of it on youtube? I cant see why they wouldn't be able to, not as good as parrots though obviously |

| Yes very fast on foot even when injured, i remember making the mistake of not properly shooting one and having to run over 3 miles to catch it. Yeah they can mimic but not as well as parrots of indeed ravens. i doubt therell be a youtube vid. they can also work out complex puzzles, ive seen them putting stones into a narrow cup of water to raise the water level so they can freely drink, incredibly clever animals. Some of the corvidae family are proported to fashion and use their own tools, which so far only humans and primates have been recorded as doing. _________________ |
