...I would like to know about yr experiences with Scolopendras in plastboxes.
Do they chew the hardend plastic?
What about ventilation. Do they need ventilation holes? Isn't it enough with the air that comes in when i'm misting once in a while weekly?

I have allready ordered my first Scolopendra multidens 0.0.1 (7cm), and it's on the way But I dont know the exactly location for this one, maybe Taiwan!

I'd put it in something tall with sheer walls, just so it can't climb out easily when you're feeding it.

I had one with very limited ventilation and it smelled like carbon dioxide whenever I took the lid off -- more ventilation is a very good thing.

You can also double-tank them for added security.

It won't chew through plastic.

I think you could keep one in a plastic box, I will probably be getting one soon too.. I guess we'll find out. :L I've got a plastic ctorage box type thing.. but 'pedes are notorious escape artists.

i have one but havent really ever seen it... i dug it up a while ago to check it was alive but since then i havent seen it... it couldnt have escaped though... because of the rep of these guys and the seriously lacking knowledge of their LD50 levels i have very fine mesh (net curtain stuff) doubled over and tied on to the sides and wire mesh on top of that as well as the lid which is weighted down with another tank and it is also vaselined on the inside to reduce the grip it can get... little bit overkill but the speed of these things and the amount of hiding places it could get into and then lash out when you accidentally tread on it is something that i dont want on my mind...
so really all i can add to the advice given is a secure spot for it, tight fitting secure lid and vaseline the sides to make it hard to get grip. and if you ever want to see it not too much substrate lol!

I've never seen them trying to chew their way out, but I've seen them meticulously examine their enclosure, as if looking for weaknesses.

I kept an adult S. subspinipes in a plastic Kritter Keeper and it never escaped, but the walls were low enough that there were some close calls at feeding time.
