PostSubject: Vomiting crickets?   7/31/2009, 6:12 pm

So today, in fact just now at 2am, i was lucky enough to see my emp hunt and kill the cricket i left in about 2 days ago.

The cricket got stiuck between a rock and the tank wall, so slowly but surely, the scorpion burrowed to the side and started ripping it to pieces, leg by leg, which, as you can imagine was truly fascinating.

But as it was being killed, the cricket started to vomit... or something? The mouth spewed yellowish substance, does it do this for a reason... or purely because its dieing? i didnt now they did this

could be the cricket pinched it's insides out. Or it could be a parasite I've seen something similar but I don't think it's the latter.

It's a defense mechanism to squirt gross stuff out of orifices. Like when grasshoppers spit brown stuff on you, or when roaches poo on you.

My crickets normally bite instead of spewing gross stuff
