I was having an issue with Dubia breeding, and was frustrated I couldn't get a coach roach to breed.

I had a young and hungry leopard gecko that needed roach babies to eat. Since I had over 50 adults, I had to wait. Every day I would pull apart their habitat and look for new babies. I was actually disturbing them.

I bought some super worms, and checked on the roaches after 3-4 days and had tons of babies. It is interesting that even such a basic creature reacts to stress.

If you disturb them too much they'll drop thier oothecae, best to leave them alone undistubed and make sure they have fresh food and a water source.

Thank you Kuma, too bad I had to learn part of this concept the hard way.

It's also helpful to keep 'em nice and toasty. But yeah, ignoring roaches is the best way to get them to breed.

What woould you say the best source of water is? as water gel drys out in no time!?

Veggies.

Don't go nuts on fruit veggies depending on the size of the enclosure. I started to get mold and moisture on the sides after putting in a large amount of fruit etc.

Yeah been keeping a roach colony for about a year now but given up on giving them water gel.

Best food other than fruit and veg i find is a mixture of bran, muisli, fish pellets and dry cat food, buy it cheap it lasts ages, then i use kitchen peeling for fruit n veg.
