looked it up and it seems that agar is a substitute for gelatin for most food recipes.
Can i use gelatin powder instead?

well, i cant find any gelatin at the moment, but i will get some next time i am at the store.
What is the desired consistancy of the gel? should it be like hair gel of like jello? wiggly? should it hold its shape if i were to (hypathetically) pour it in a mold?
using agar agar that is....

The main goal is that crickets won't drown in it . . . so if it's solid enough that they can walk on it, then it should be fine.

I'm starting to test gelatin water with my feeders today. I'll keep everyone posted on how well it works. One quick note though- it's a bit stinky. XD
