I caught this guy when visiting my aunts house up in the mountains in CA. I found a smaller one but let him go and brought the bigger one back with me. I have never been to interested in them...but I have to admit they are pretty crazy as a pet. Feeding him has been awesome. He has a lot of blue/green colors as well.

So, at the AES Show today here in the UK, I also got some Vampire Crabs! (Geosesarma sp.)

I got a 1.1 pair, and... ..and, they are breedable in captivity having no planktonic stage in their larval development! So, maybe have some babies at some point!

Here's the cutey little fellas:

Anyone have some basic tips for these guys? Main thing that I'm worried about is transferring them when I do maintenance in the enclosure.

Pics will be posted upon arrival of the nasty little creature

...I would like to know about yr experiences with Scolopendras in plastboxes.

Do they chew the hardend plastic?

What about ventilation. Do they need ventilation holes? Isn't it enough with the air that comes in when i'm misting once in a while weekly?

I have allready ordered my first Scolopendra multidens 0.0.1 (7cm), and it's on the way But I dont know the exactly location for this one, maybe Taiwan!

They seem pretty easy to culture as well... just need humidity right. So hopefully we will have the mite problem under control... not that it is really bad in the first place... just darn right irritating!

It's not so bad with reptiles you can spray enclosure with bug spray.. but that doens't to T''s and scorps a lot of good lol!

I'm probs gonna get them, I've been looking to get roaches for ages.. I'll definetly try to breed them If I do get them... they better still have them in.

Are there any good forums that are mainly dedicated to mantis discussions? I'm having trouble finding one that's very active at all. I keep hearing about this mantidforum.com, but every time I go there it doesn't work. Can anyone recommend another good site that's pretty active? Thanks.
