Hissing Cockroaches as feeders?

I was wondering what everyone thought about using madagascar hissing cockroaches to feed my scorp. Does anyone think a scorpion would have a tough time chomping through that hard shell? I was also curious about the nutritional value of night crawlers, anyone have any info on them?

Tip on Dubia breeding

I was having an issue with Dubia breeding, and was frustrated I couldn't get a coach roach to breed.

I had a young and hungry leopard gecko that needed roach babies to eat. Since I had over 50 adults, I had to wait. Every day I would pull apart their habitat and look for new babies. I was actually disturbing them.

I bought some super worms, and checked on the roaches after 3-4 days and had tons of babies. It is interesting that even such a basic creature reacts to stress.

The problem: My inverts don't have any food and I don't get paid for another two weeks (keep in mind that I have juvi scorps that haven't eaten for about two weeks, and also two gravids). I know that they'll most-likely live, but I usually keep them well-fed (at the moment certain circumstances are keeping me from doing so).

The solution: Someone does me a huge favor and mails me a maybe two dozen roaches and I pay them back when I get paid (which would be around the beginning of next month)? ...

So today, in fact just now at 2am, i was lucky enough to see my emp hunt and kill the cricket i left in about 2 days ago.

The cricket got stiuck between a rock and the tank wall, so slowly but surely, the scorpion burrowed to the side and started ripping it to pieces, leg by leg, which, as you can imagine was truly fascinating.

But as it was being killed, the cricket started to vomit... or something? The mouth spewed yellowish substance, does it do this for a reason... or purely because ...

Great mix of nymphs and sub adults. I am really digging these right now...have been watching them eat and crawl around for hours. Almost as much fun as the scorpions

I've had a colony going for quite a while most are sub adult a few are adult (a couple thousand). Just recently they started dying on me. They seem to loosing control of their body and dying slowly. I usually see them on their back kicking there legs. I was using cricket gel and high quality dog food. So I cleaned a new cage made a $60 mix for the crickets and switched back to the old cricket gel I had been using. I thought it might have been the gel I was using because it smelled like bad eggs. ...

I just started a colony of about 100 crickets. Most are female. If I need a constant supply of 100 crickets a week (40 adults and 60 1-4 week) how long would I leave the egg dish in there for and should I use multiple dishes? I heard each female lays about 100 eggs in their lifetime but I do not now how many eggs they lay at once.

Obviously I want this colony to be selfsustaining. Someone give me the breakdown. Thanks.
