Iomachus politus

the male died shortly after mating some time ago as you may (or may not) remember. So I didn't know for sure if they had actually mated successfully.

Anyway just over 24 hours ago on my birthday, look what I came downstairs to

18 babies, 6 more than last time

she is also a lot more defensive than last time and acting like a mother should. Fingers crossed she has learned and will not eat this brood

Here's another one of those "had this for awhile, no idea why I didn't post sooner..." Delirium got me this little beastie (thnks again), my favorite member of the genus Androctonus, tying in with mauritanicus for the its matte-like finish, but bicolor has the gloss!!!

For this one, a one of kind DIY enclosure; and a closer shot of the interior

The ceramic-claypot shard serves nicely as a hide.

Unfortunately, this one came with the black spot (no discredit to Delirium). ...

Just those things that makes you love these creatures even more

This sight was what i woke up to.During the night she must have gone insane and redecorated her home. She have tipped her corkhide around and moved it to make a new hide.

And this is how it looked before (remake) maybe she will redecorate again ...

I also have an Hadogenes paucidens spermatophore in my collection that I can photograph later.

The supplier I got my H. spinifer from in the Cameron Highlands, took a photograph of a two-tailed Hetrometrus he collected in the wild. The photo was sold as a postcard in his trinket shop. I bought a copy and had it on my wall for the longest time. I never posted it due to the fact it was not mine and I never questioned if it might have been a photoshop job. I'm no expert in photo analysis, but this photo represents a possible novelty that I hope to see in the flesh someday...

These are 2nd and 3rd instars I think....I haven't had any cannibalism so I am continuing to raise them communally. Although they do play tug of war with the crickets sometimes. I have a few more females ready to pop...but they have looked that way for months. Mr. mordax should be proud haha.

In early October, I received a bucket-load of scorpions; most of which consisted of species new to my collection and exceedingly rare in terms of availability in Malaysia. Chances are, you would never see them in the local pet-stores here. A handful were purchased from a tarantula breeder who lives up north; the others were generously surrendered to me from a close buddy overseas who wanted to let go of some he got bored of... when it rains it certainly pours. Here’s the mother load inventory...

They stayed in this pose for quite a while, unmoving. It seems to be a characteristic of this species to impersonate a statue.

"Ur doin it wrong"

That's more like it!
